Job Summary: The Welding Engineer (Robotic Welding & Automation Specialization) will design, develop, and optimize welding processes, with a primary focus on robotic welding systems and automation. This role involves programming and maintaining robotic welding equipment, ensuring weld quality, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate is a skilled engineer with hands-on experience in robotic welding, automation integration, and a passion for advancing manufacturing excellence.
Feladatok
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding Process Development: Design and implement welding processes, including MIG, TIG, laser, or resistance welding, with an emphasis on robotic welding applications to meet quality and production requirements.
- Robotic Welding Programming: Program, optimize, and troubleshoot robotic welding systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA) for automated welding tasks, ensuring precision, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Automation Integration: Lead the integration of robotic welding systems into production lines, collaborating with automation engineers to design and deploy workcells.
- Weld Quality Assurance: Develop and monitor welding parameters, specifications, and inspection methods to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g.ISO). Conduct weld imperfection analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Process Optimization: Apply Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to improve welding processes, reduce cycle times, minimize defects, and lower costs.
- Equipment Maintenance: Work with maintenance teams to ensure robotic welding systems and related equipment are maintained, calibrated, and operational to minimize downtime.
- Tooling & Fixture Design: Design and specify welding fixtures, tooling, and jigs for robotic and manual welding processes, ensuring compatibility with automation systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all welding and robotic processes adhere to safety standards and industry regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols for automated welding operations.
- Documentation & Training: Create detailed process documentation, including weld procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and work instructions. Train production staff on robotic welding operations and safety practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of welded components and seamless integration of automation solutions.
- Project Management: Lead or support projects related to robotic welding system upgrades, new equipment installations, or process modernization, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in welding engineering, with at least 2 years focused on robotic welding and automation in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting robotic welding systems (e.g., FANUC).
- Proven expertise in welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, laser, or resistance welding) and weld quality control.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of welding standards and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture and tooling design.
- Experience with PLC programming or automation control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is a plus.
- Certifications: Certified Welding Engineer (CWE), Certified Robotic Arc Welding (CRAW) Technician, or similar certifications preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Other Requirements: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, to support production needs.
